On 4 July 2014, newly promoted Premier League club Burnley confirmed that they had signed Taylor from West Ham United on a two-year deal, on a free transfer. Taylor played in Burnley’s first three games of the 2014–15 season but sustained an Achilles’ heel injury for which he underwent surgery in October 2014.
